Patients come to the Clinic from direct referrals from GPs, consultants and other health professionals. Self-referral after a recommendation from a friend is often how patients make their first appointment.

What is Osteopathy?
It is s a manual and natural system approach to healthcare. It gives attention on the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments and connective tissue) and the way in which this inter-relates with the body as a hole. It is a gentle, safe and non-invasive treatment.
What will a first session with the Osteopath involve?
When you visit an osteopath for the first time, a full clinical history will be taken from the patient. Then you will be given a physical examination to evaluate the posture, mobility, functionality and different tests. After this the osteopath can evaluate and decide on the best osteopathic treatment for the patient. A variety of treatments will be used, such as stretching, soft tissue techniques, passive joints movements and high velocity thrust techniques. Depending on the patient, the osteopath can use gentle release techniques which are specially indicated for children and the elderly.
